Blackjack.

I don't know if it means that the BLC is more "underground" or less "underground" this year than last--it isn't congruous with the name--perhaps a name-change is in order (then it would sound like Chinese restaurant--Good Fortune Town). We're still on a plateau but that's totally cool, since the only really interesting thing that we did in the last year was that live score for the Bruce Bickford animation. Every time I see the results of such a contest, I'm really curious about what goes through a voter's mind. Did they get "instructions for the jury?" The spurious regressor in me really would love to get the data and make some bullshit hypotheses up.

I'm stoked that Ian won, though. His record really doesn't do it for me, but when he opened for us at the Artopia (just before the break dancers), he blew me away solo. I don't understand how some groups didn't garner more (or any) votes--certainly some folks work a lot harder than we do.

Apparently, we're out of cat food. Damn.

Awesome Narrative.

A very west Texas tale. I love it. I would've done this if the opportunity presented itself.

Here (READ IT).

Horoscope For Today

What? This is hilarious:
JZ, your feats are noticed. A recent surge of your physical energy draws admiration from someone who barely knows you. Making a good impression without all the baggage of your past is also a boost for your long-term goals.

Priceless....

I saw this and HAD to post it. One of the funniest bass player videos, ever:

That would make a great cover for a certain band of mine. There would have to be some rearrangement for dos rock guitars, but it would be a BADASS cover and let Kelly scream. I know that Andrew and I could easily do it. D might have alternate lyrics. It would have to be much slower. I've loved the 'band of demons' bass line (chomatic death) since I was four years old.

I'm An Idiot.

I spent half an hour in the liquor store parking lot looking for the batmobile. Lucky for me, it wasn't that crowded, and I could just meander up and down the aisles until I found her. I had scored a close spot, and not in an aisle (near the building), so I just looked like an idiot.

They totally had Turn Left Energy Drink on sale for $.69! I had heard about this about a year ago--it was supposed to be marketed at NASCAR 'necks. It claims to be "liquid horsepower." The can queries, "How Fast Do You Want To Go?"

In its raw form, it's pretty ghastly, like most beverages in this category.

My dudes, they should've marketed this at alcoholic drivers. A fifty-percent vodka and fifty-percent Turn Left Energy Drink beverage (essentially a Dr. Vodka with Turn Left Energy Drink) is some certainly potent shit.

I'm going to have another pint of this and see if it actually enhances my driving ability. I'll bet I can outrun Statey on the wrong side of I-25. If only the batmobile were running better, right?

Make A Statement Without Playing A Note

Dudes...I like totally found one on the Ebay. I'd have to ditch the EMG Select pickups for my EMG PJ set that is begging to go into an instrument. It would complete my tie dye and Pink Floyd scuffies and cargo shorts-wearing 'new and improved' rocklook (tm).

Tell me that ain't tough-lookin', though:

No case, or I'd totally get it. I suppose that I could get a Coffin Case, though (I think that they make one for such foolishness, and it comes with a metalslut (tm).

For Linda Ruth...

or others that aren't so into the Poison video-o-rama....

My Brother, Dr. E-dogg, was totally into the Poison. Our father trasheed all of those records because of the 'sex on the beach' from the 'open up and say ahh' record. Anyhow....here's the shit from él señor de amor a la roca:

Actually...it's all about 'talk nerdy to me,' LINDA. Think that I require a lime-green B.C. Warlock, really:

Indeed, I require a Warlock (and lots of cocaine);...is that the RATT or Randall sound?!? Priceless '80s video (love the Newman-lookin' father):

Overcasters require more choreography; certainly for the videos. 'F'J.N. certainly has enough banjos to pull off nonsense such as this:

Classic...I require some crazy brunette groupie (I love 12-string anything):

More Spongmonkeys

When I saw the Hover Bacon animation recently, I realized that it was indeed those very same spongmonkeys from the Quiznos ads (which upset people enough that they were pulled).

I love the "they got a pepper bar" one:
