Lost And Found Two

I've been going through my milk crates full of tapes, looking for some very specific recordings of my first band. So far, I've had no luck.

I did find a lot of music that really was life-changing when I was an alterna-teen (actually some of it predated that phase). One that I found was really great for me circa late 1989: Death's Scream Bloody Gore. I always thought that the lyrics on "Zombie Ritual" were really silly, but Chuck Schuldiner was a great player (RIP), and to a 14-year-old kid, it was cool:

And tonight, I'm going to a folk show....unbelievable.

R.I.P.

Long, long, past due. Mauricio Saravia did a lot of paintings that I love. Sad to me that he's gone...even more sad is that it took me two months to notice.

I suck. You are missed, man; truly a beautiful soul. Thank you for populating my computer's desktop with beauty.

Insert The Biggest White-Guy Afro Ever Here.

Damn...that's hilarious.

Or, the so-called "Wall of Sound." Spector changed everything as far as production goes, especially in country (he's better known for the pop stuff). This one has fucking castanets (and hand claps) and great drumming, which I've been totally desiring since the flamenco stuff came about. Glad that chick didn't get shot in the face.

This is one of the songs that I first danced to at a party (for the girl that I paralyzed in fourth grade's birthday party with her older sister and her pretty friends). It has a decent beat, seriously. And...castanets for us lacking the rhythm.

I don't dance, really, but I do move, if I'm moved. I don't even want to shoot women in the face because of the Spector--so much for my Judas Priest lawsuit, right?

The Pinocchio Of Schools

I had to see if Montessori schools were "real schools" today when I found this priceless poster in the trash at the Boulder Montessori School:

If I were silly enough to have children, I would hope that spelling would be part of professional development at their school. Elementary educators are mostly imbeciles.

Wow.

I can't believe that I found this on the YouTube. This is my favorite NMH song, and unreleased. Probably a top five song for me. It's too bad that the sound quality sucks. Jeff apologizes for the lyrics being unfinished at the beginning.

Wonderful.

Blurry, Rainy, and Unsinkable

I was wandering around today in Denver in the rain. There's a lot of cool places to see, but I only had the cameraphone. Oh well...maybe another time.

The Molly Brown house:
