I really don't like that photo at all. That one that Claypool did at Cocaine Blues really is great, even if it probably won't publish well. Anyhow, here is the new write-up, in Syntax.
Hm. A notch above the usual pretentious, faux-arty stuff I read in Syntax (truth be told, I think Jonathan is a cool guy, though). But man, some of those passages are straight out of the "Wow, I just got my English Literature degree and I can use big words and try to make a show of my having my own literary style" mentality. Awkwardness and ignorance masked by intellectual bravado, the ability to write sentences without embarassing oneself horribly and a show of unwarranted confidence in one's understanding of the material.
Still, it's nice to get press, I suppose. At least it wasn't the Music Buzz.
